A Tiny Vestibule Goes Eclectic!

This empty-nester couple in the West University neighborhood of Houston is not afraid of color, pattern, or quirky. In fact, their whole house is quite eclectic.

The wife loves this Bohemian-ish pattern by Cole & Son, and found a place where she could squeeze it into her home. I hung this in a small vestibule leading to a guest bedroom. The area was about 3’x3′, and had four doors – one on each wall.

Originally, the walls were painted the same dark blue as the woodwork. I skim-floated them and sanded smooth, primed, and then hung this paper. It really pops out against the blue woodwork, and does so much more for the space than the dark paint.

And it’s such a cheery pattern – you almost want to dance when you walk through the hall!
