Bellewood Forest Mural Around Window

April 8, 2022
Re my previous post, on the opposite wall was this window, and the homeowner wanted the mural extended to this area. If I had kept the mural on this wall at the same height as the mural on the door / mirror wall, there would have been blank space above the window.
With the trees and bayou outside the window, I thought it would continue the theme to have the wallpaper trees surround the window. The homeowner agreed.
Because the cabinets below came up 3′, that space didn’t need to be covered with wallpaper, so I was able to cut off 3′ from the top of the mural. That pulled the trees up higher on the wall, so their tops became visible over the window. I plotted so the area would be half sky at the top and half trees at the bottom.
The mural worked out so that there were taller trees on the right side. I thought it looked a little uneven, so I took some scraps and cut a bit of leaves and pasted them on in the upper left, to balance the look a bit.

Innovative Use of Wallpaper Mural in Master Bedroom Closet

April 5, 2022
The mural was to go in one wall, but that wall had several corners and turns.
Don’t be distracted by the mirror on the left, which is reflecting clothing and dropcloths. The focus is the beautiful etched-looking mural!
Before.
I love the way the trees creep along the wall and in between the mirror and door moldings.
Close-up.
Here is a picture of the mural as shown on the company’s website. Both the homeowner and I expected that the trees would reach up higher, and would be visible over the mirror and door. I was disappointed that the company printed it too short for those treetops to be visible over the door, but the homeowner was OK with it.
In the end, it worked out nicely, because the homeowner wanted another area covered that I had not measured for, and the lack of trees above the doors meant that I was able to pull that off. More on that in another post.
The manufacturer is Rebel Walls ( rebelwalls.com ), and I like their material and quality a lot. Their murals are custom-sizeable, too, which is a bonus.
This popular pattern is called Bellewood .
It’s a non-woven material and you can paste the paper or paste the wall to install.
The home is in the Memorial Villages area of Houston.

Foresty Mural on Med Center Condo Dining Room Accent Wall

January 11, 2020

Don’t you love the way this Bellewood “etched forest” look mural changes the dynamics of this dining area?! The homeowner did a super job of matching the paint below the chair rail to compliment the mural.

In the top photo, I have finished skim-floating the textured wall, and have three fans set in place to encourage quicker drying. Once it’s dry, I will sand and prime the wall.

This product comes as a 6-panel mural, digitally-sized to fit the space. This is great for this 5′ high wall, because it allows the whole pattern to be seen, whereas if it had been a stock 8′ high mural, most of the trees at the lower section would have been cut off.

The mural is called “Bellewood” and is by Rebel Walls. I have hung this several times before, so do a Search to see my previous posts.

The material is a non-woven substrate, which is tear-proof and does not expand, so it can be hung via the paste-the-wall method. This eliminates the need for my big work table, and it is cleaner and a bit quicker, too. The material is designed to strip off the wall easily when it’s time to change decor.

Buy from Rebel Walls on-line. Remember to have the paperhanger measure before you order – murals are tricky.
