Gorgeous Bathroom with Thibaut’s “Lafayette”

August 13, 2021

I like classic and traditional. This room is all that, from the wallpaper to the antique commode style vanity, mirror, and light fixture.

Unfortunately, Thibaut has discontinued this historic Lafayette design, and by now all warehoused stock has been snatched up.

Subtle Stripe Wallpaper Coordinates With Main Room

This dusty yellow striped wallpaper pattern went in the potty room / water closet of a master bathroom. In the larger room, the homeowner wanted a brightly colored, nautical-themed wallpaper. She chose this more muted color and subdued pattern for the smaller commode room.

I really like the idea of companion / coordinating wallpaper patterns in adjoining rooms. All it takes are colors from the same family, and design themes that are in the same league. This is a perfect example.

This wallpaper pattern is by Thibaut Designs, and was bought at below retail price from Dorota Hartwig at Southwestern Paint on Bissonnet near Kirby. (713) 520-6262 or dorotasouthwestern@hotmail.com. A Very Quiet Paper

This is what I call a “quiet pattern.” Not too busy, no jarring colors, just some soft movement and a color that coordinates nicely with the homeowners’ tile and paint.

I hung this in the commode room of a master bathroom in a newish home in Montrose, in central Houston. The sink and tub area retain their neutral colored paint.
