This wallpaper reminds me of a man’s flannel suit. (Can anyone say Gregory Peck?! 🙂 ) It’s tailored, the colors are muted, the design is timeless, the pattern is subtle, and there’s just a bit of texture.

This went in the dining room of a new home in the Heights (Houston), which has white paneling and a chair rail on the bottom 1/3 of the wall. It looks just fabulous, and was so welcomed after the homeowners had lived with standard-issue boring beige walls for so long.

The wallpaper is by Grandeco (grandecogroup.com) (pattern #BC 8136-N053, BoHo Chic line), and was comprised of a vinyl surface on a thin and pliable non-woven backing, a paste-the-wall product. It was a positive delight to hang, seams are totally invisible, it will withstand a little abuse (splashes, washing, dings), and will be easy to remove when the time comes.

The last photo shows how I used thel aser level to ensure that the pattern is hanging true to plumb.
