Digital ImageDigital ImageDigital ImageDigital ImageFirst, my apologies for the dark photos. There simply is not always a lot of light when I’m working!

Here is how a family room in the West University area was enlivened and warmed up, with the simple addition of four strips of grey-taupe grasscloth wallpaper, on the backs of a set of built-in bookshelves, which flank the fireplace.

The texture and color work really well with furniture in the room, which is a sort of shabby chic French Scandinavian style in a muddy taupe color.

The first pic is the “before” shot – just primer on the back of the shelves. The last photo is a good shot of the grasscloth. And it also shows how the manufacturer skimped on giving the standard 36″ width of material!
